Staff Summary
* The $150,000 Illinois Department of Public Health grant will be used to fund a new Community Health Specialist and Program Assistant, computer equipment, supplies, and indirect expenses.
* The $150,000 in additional contract funding has not been previously appropriated because the contract resources were secured after the County's adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022 budget.
* The contract award will be for the period July 1, 2022, through December 31, 2023.
* If the program funding is reduced or eliminated, the program and positions would be eliminated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a contract increase delivered by our Prevention Unit; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide a legitimate increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and
WHEREAS, this grant will be used for two new positions that will be eliminated if or when this grant's funding is no longer available and no other funding source outside of property tax dollars has been identified; and
WHEREAS, this contract amount totaling $150,000 has not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $150,000 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and
