Staff Summary
• The Villages of Lake Barrington and North Barrington have agreed to renew the police services contract for a three-year period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025.
• Based on previous calls for service, the Village of Lake Barrington pays 68 percent of the total monthly cost, and the Village of North Barrington pays 32 percent of the total monthly cost.
• The contract continues the 24-hour one car per shift services, seven days per week, every day of the year.
• This renewal contract maintains three deputies per day working eight and one-half personnel hours per shift which allow for overlap of services to facilitate shift changes.
• The State’s Attorney’s Office has reviewed this renewal contract.
• The Villages of Lake Barrington and North Barrington will reimburse the cost of the three contract deputy positions for all three years.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Villages of Lake Barrington and North Barrington have requested that the Sheriff continue to provide police services to the said Villages; and
WHEREAS, the Villages of Lake Barrington and North Barrington have requested the continuation of police services for twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, every day of the year; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has negotiated an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Villages relative to providing said services.
WHEREAS, the County and the Villages are proposing that the new rate for policing services will be:

with 68 percent paid monthly by the Village of Lake Barrington and the remaining 32 percent paid monthly by the Village of North Barrington. The monthly installment is due on the fifteenth day of January; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Villages of Lake Barrington and North Barrington for the purpose of continuing to provide police services in the Villages, effective January 1, 2023.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Villages of Lake Barrington, North Barrington and the Lake County Sheriff.
