RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County), is the local sponsor, and maintains, operates, and repairs the North Libertyville Estates (NLE) Levee; and
WHEREAS, in response to observed sand boils on the neighborhood side of the levee, three relief wells were installed in 2011 to relieve pressure during flood events; and
WHEREAS, Relief Well #1 showed signs of failure during the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers inspection in 2021 and subsequent testing showed failure of the screen; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the NLE Levee Relief Well Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, Great Lakes Water Resources Group, Inc. is the lowest and only responsive, and responsible bidder in the ...
