Staff Summary
• The County has planted native landscape areas for various projects on the County highway system that require routine inspection and maintenance and are included in the Transportation Improvement Program, and designated as Section 23-00000-14-GM.
• The contract documents and inspection work will be done by a consultant, while the maintenance will be completed by a contractor through the formal letting process.
• Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $152,500 of Matching Tax funds is needed.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, in recent years, improvements have been completed along various County highways, including the planting of native landscape areas; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the native landscape areas along these County highways are properly maintained; and
WHEREAS, the native landscape contract documents and inspection work will be done by a consultant and maintenance will be completed by a contractor; and
WHEREAS, specifications and estimates of cost for this Fiscal Year 2023 native landscape maintenance project have been completed and are now ready to proceed to a contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $152,500 of Matching Tax funds for the inspection and maintenance of the native landscape along various County highways, and designated as Section 23-00000-14-GM.
