Ratification of Illinois Department of Public Health, Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) Workforce Development Support Grant, $150,000.00 - Grant Approval - Kritz

Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) received through the Illinois Department of Public Health grant funding in the amount of $150,000.00 for the DIS Workforce Development Support Grant. The funding period is from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. The Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) Workforce Development Funding is part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The goal of the investment is to support 21st century outbreak response needs by expanding and enhancing frontline public health staff, conducting DIS workforce training and skills building, building organizational capacity for outbreak response, and evaluating and improving recruitment, training, and outbreak response efforts. In the STI program, this will fund a new Community Health Specialist and Program Assistant, computer equipment, supplies, and indirect expenses.

To ratify and approve the Illinois Department of Public Health, DIS Workforce grant and emergency appropriation of $150,000.00 for LCFY22.
