Discussion on proposed text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (Chapter 151 of the Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances) relating to the regulation of certain nature-based topics.

 

Staff Summary

•                     At the direction of the Lake County Board, the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) conducted a public hearing on July 28, 2022 to consider a set of proposed text amendments focused on wildlife rehabilitation, ecotherapy, and animal exhibition uses.

•                     Upon conclusion of the public hearing, the ZBA recommended by a vote of 5-0 that the proposed amendments be approved.

•                     Staff will present the proposed amendments for Committee discussion prior to bringing the amendments back for Committee action.
