SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) represents workforce development Boards and agencies across the United States; and
WHEREAS, Ashannti Ross, Lake County Workforce Development Project Lead Planner, has been recognized as a Workforce Development Hero by the NAWDP for her contributions and dedication to serving others within the Workforce Development industry; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Ross has influenced the Lake County Workforce Development Department’s culture and increased local community engagement by showing teamwork, dedication, partner cohesiveness, and the ability to champion the needs of underserved communities and partner organizations, while addressing key objectives within the strategic plan; and
WHEREAS, as part of Ms. Ross’ role as Lead Project Planner, she has encompassed a “Coaching Champion” mindset and client communication skills and relations that has allowed Lake County Workforce Development to establish many new programs, Community Partnerships, and assistance with System Design implementation; and
WHEREAS, over the last six years, Ms. Ross has been instrumental in managing projects, including Revive Lake County which assists justice impacted individuals within our Lake County Jail and residents with records, the Work, Earn, and Learn program which assists unemployed job seekers with talent development and employers access to talent, Career Crossroads which exposes Junior and Senior high school students to in-demand industries and educational opportunities and also online learning opportunities for job seekers including LINKEDIN Learning and Grow with Google certificate program; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Ross’ exceptional leadership traits have allowed Workforce Development to better serve those most in need in Lake County, enhance community outreach, promote internal teamwork, and utilize social media platforms to better engage local job seeker and business clients.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Ashannti Ross be applauded for her contributions and dedication to serving others within the Workforce Development industry.
