Special recognition honoring September 2022 as Workforce Development Professionals Month.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Workforce Development Professionals Month was created in 2005 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) to raise awareness about the importance of the industry to a growing national economy; and
WHEREAS, the economic development of every region in our country and the ability of our businesses and industries to compete in the global economy are now more than ever before dependent on the availability and quality of a skilled workforce and robust talent pipeline; and
WHEREAS, the complexity and fast-paced changes in our economy and labor markets puts new demands on individuals and employers at all levels; and
WHEREAS, employers depend on similar levels of professional services to help them recruit and retain a competitive workforce and continually upgrade the skill sets of their employees; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Workforce Development is a leader in implementing changes through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to expand and develop comprehensive workforce solutions for communities; and
WHEREAS, they have implemented high performing programs that meet the needs of residents and employers through partnerships with government agencies, businesses, training and education facilities, and community-based organizations; and
WHEREAS, they deliver on the key promise to keep training and education at the forefront of their organization by investing in skills training and retraining, companies benefit from a highly skilled team who feels confident in their job performance, abilities and career trajectory; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Workforce Development has been instrumental in creating a system that successfully delivers programs and services which provide greater access to training, education and jobs for the underserved. Industries have greater access to talent, small businesses have access to more candidates and employee re-training, partners and stakeholders have access to professional workforce development services for customers and employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that September 2022 is Workforce Development Professionals Month in Lake County; and
BE IT FURTHER RECOGNIZED, that this County Board recognizes Lake County’s Workforce Development Department for all of their efforts and joins the NAWDP in honoring all those individuals in all the Workforce Development organizations and partnerships who play such as vital role in our economy.
