Staff Summary

•                     On December 14^th, 2021, the County Board passed a joint resolution adopting a policy to prohibit single use plastics in Lake County Operations by January 1^st, 2023.

•                     On September 8^th, 2020, the County Board passed a joint resolution committing Lake County government operations to a 60% diversion rate of recyclables and organics from its own waste stream by 2030 and 90% by 2040.

•                     The Sustainability Program Manager has created a presentation reflecting work with vendors, partner organizations, and department staff which details methods for eliminating single use plastic from operations.
