Special recognition of July 2022 as Immigrant Heritage Month.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, on May 31, 2022, the President of the United State of America signed a law that designates the month of June as Immigrant Heritage Month; and
WHEREAS, the United States of America is a nation of immigrants that have defined the character of our country; and
WHEREAS, we recognize the valuable contributions to virtually every aspect of American society, including medicine, science, law, business, education, technology, government, military service, culture; and
WHEREAS, immigration and diversity are essential elements to our social fabric, and cultural growth; and
WHEREAS, the vast contributions, achievements, and experiences of immigrant families have helped to make Lake County, Illinois better and the place we know today.
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RECOGNIZED, by this County Board of Lake County, that July 2022 be observed as Immigrant Heritage Month to recognize the valuable contributions of immigrants to Lake County and all aspects of American History.
