COVID-19 Vaccine Update

COVID-19 vaccination clinics for FQHC patients and community members continue at Grand Avenue Health Center and Midlakes Health Center. COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered in conjunction with primary care visits starting the end of June. At each visit, providers and their care teams continue to encourage patients, their eligible family members and friends to get vaccinated. Outreach continues to LCHD patients to inquire about their vaccination status, encourage them to get vaccinated and, if they haven’t already, assist with scheduling an appointment at one of our health centers for their vaccine. The team is currently focusing on patients 50-64 years old and has completed initial outreach calls to those 5-11 years old and 65 years and older. Follow-up calls to these age groups will be made again to see if vaccine uptake can be achieved.

Staffing Update

Staffing challenges continue at all FQHC sites related to hiring support staff, primarily Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) and Patient Access Center (PAC) clerks. Leadership continues to work with our recruiters on different strategies.
