Staff Summary
* Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/4-10001, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office.
* Based on the election cycle of certain officials it is necessary to set compensation for the County Clerk, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Sheriff, and Treasurer for fiscal year 2023 through fiscal year 2026.
* This resolution reflects Lake County Board action to keep the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 salary the same as FY 2022, with no increase for FY24, FY25 and FY26

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of Countywide elected officials; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the County Clerk, Regional Superintendent of Schools, Sheriff, and Treasurer for fiscal years 2023 through 2026; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the County Clerk and the Treasurer shall be as follows for the fiscal years indicated:
* For fiscal year 2023: $134,348 per annum;
* For fiscal year 2024: $134,348 per annum;
* For fiscal year 2025: $134,348 per annum;
* For fiscal year 2026: $134,348 per annum.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the annual salary for the Regional Superintendent of Schools, shall be as follows for the fiscal years indicated:
* For fiscal year 2023: $134,348 per annum (the County pays the difference from the State Salary);
