Staff Summary
* The Lake County Clerk has an existing contract with Shur-Way Moving and Cartage to provide services for delivery and storage of election supplies which was approved by the County Board in January 2020.
* Senate Bill 825 shifted the March 15, 2022 general primary to June 28, 2022 as lawmakers needed to get finalized census data, delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, to redraw district maps.
* The change in date required a renegotiation with Shur-Way Moving.
* Shur-Way Moving indicated that the new date was during their peak season for moving services and would require an increase to hire additional staff and rent additional equipment.
* In accordance with Section 33.082 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, this Change Order One is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interest of Lake County.
* This committee action approves Change Order One in the amount of $38,583.25 and increasing the overall contract to $111,453.44 to complete the services for the June general primary.
* The County Clerk's Office will seek additional quotes to provide services for the November consolidated election.
