Joint resolution accepting the Illinois Department of Human Services grant and authorizing an emergency appropriation in the amount of $9,178 for the Illinois Prevent Prescription/Opioid Drug Overdose-related Deaths grant.

 

Staff Summary

                     The $9,178 Illinois Department of Human Services grant will fund training and a consultant.

                     The $9,178 in additional grant funding has not been previously appropriated because the grant resources were secured after the County’s adoption of the FY22 budget.

                     The grant award will be for the period July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase delivered by our Clinical Operations Unit; and

 

WHEREAS, these dollars will provide a legitimate increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant will be used for a new position that will be eliminated if or when this grant’s funding is no longer available and no other funding source outside of property tax dollars has been identified; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $9,178 has not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will be fully offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $9,178 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue budgets as identified on the attached listing be modified as provided by increased funding from the following:

 

Illinois Department of Human Services - Illinois Prevent Prescription/Opioid Drug Overdose-related Deaths, $9,178.
