Staff Summary
* The 19th Judicial Circuit Court was awarded grant funding from the Supreme Court of Illinois Court Technology Modernization Program to provide services benefiting the court, court users and justice partners.
* Case Center from Thomson Reuters (DBA West Publishing Corporation) was identified as new technology to streamline hearings and trials for courts, expedite case resolution for prosecutors and defense counsel, and improve case preparation for self-represented litigants.
* Lake County has an existing contract with West Publishing Corporation for online Legal, Public Record, Investigative, and Research, which was approved by the County Board on July 13, 2021, in the amount of $222,613.20. Contract Modification One was approved on November 2, 2021, to include the cost for legal publications for the law library in the amount of $115,512 under the existing contract.
* Contract Modification Two allows for pricing for Case Center implementation for the one-time cost of $16,500 and ongoing monthly subscription services in the estimated annual amount of $43,800.
* In accordance with Section 33.082 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, this Contract Modification Two is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interest of Lake County.
* This resolution approves Contract Modification Two in the amount of $60,300 and increasing the overall contract to $398,425.20.
