Ordinance amending a previous ordinance designating new voting sites in Lake County Townships.
Staff Summary
• Due to reapportionment, precinct boundaries were changed, and 16 new precincts were added
• After reviewing voting sites for the June 28, 2022 General Primary, voting site changes are proposed to accommodate precincts changes, and unavailable sites.
• Precincts will be reassigned to an appropriate voting sites which have sufficient parking and voting space as well as full accessibility for all voters.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Lake County currently has 431 voting precincts in 18 Townships: and
WHEREAS, for Avon Township 026, 050, 051, and Warren Township 321, 325 and 327, the University Center of Lake County will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Avon Township 042, 043, 045, and 049, Prairie View Elementary School will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Ela Township 079, 080, 081, 082 and 115, Lake Zurich Middle School North, will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Grant Township 140, 141, 146, and 147, Big Hollow Campus, will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Lake Villa Township 163, 164, 165, 166, and 167, William L. Thompson School will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Moraine Township 222, 228, 229, 230, 231, and 232, Braeside Elementary School will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, for Warren Township 333, 334, 335, 336, and 337, Warren Township High School, O’Plaine Campus will be the assigned polling place.
WHEREAS, each said precinct is being relocated to a voting site which has sufficient parking and voting space as well as full accessibility for all voters; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, the attached Exhibit A sets forth the affected Precincts by Township name and identifies the new voting site to which the affected precincts are assigned, listing both name and location.
