Joint resolution accepting the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and authorizing an emergency appropriation in the amount of $30,108 for grant and program administration.

 

Staff Summary

                     The $30,108 in grant funds will be used to administer the EFSP. 

                     The $30,108 is comprised of three funding phases as follows:

o                     Phase 38 $6,478 for period January 27, 2020 through October 31, 2021

o                     Phase 39 $5,776 for the period November 1, 2021 through April 23, 2023

o                     Phase ARPA $17,854 for the period November 1, 2021 through April 23, 2023

                     The $30,108 in grant funding has not been previously appropriated because the grant resources were secured after the County’s adoption of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Lake County Community Development has received an EFSP grant from the FEMA; and

 

WHEREAS, these dollars will be used to administer the EFSP; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $30,108 has not been previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the FY 2022 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation was be offset by the above referenced items thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $30,108 is hereby authorized in the Community Development budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof.
