R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains numerous water mains throughout the County including the water mains in the Oak Terrace Water System in Unincorporated Mundelein and along Oakwood Road in Vernon Hills; and

WHEREAS, the water mains in the Oak Terrace Water System and the water main along Oakwood Road have reached the end of their useful life and need to be replaced; and

WHEREAS, the replacement of the existing water mains is the most economical method to ensure continued reliable service; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Oak Terrace Water System and Oakwood Road Water Main Replacement Project; and

WHEREAS, Joel Kennedy Constructing Corp. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $1,030,444; the other bids received ranged from $1,121,663 to $1,291,965.63.
