Joint resolution approving Program Year (PY) 2022 Lake County Affordable Housing Program (LCAHP) grant awards.
Staff Summary
• In December 2021, Community Development staff received applications for eligible affordable housing programs and projects.
• The available affordable housing funding includes $434,828 of LCAHP Funds.
• On March 16, 2022, the Housing and Community Development Commission voted to recommend LCAHP funds to the following:
o Catholic Charities - $150,000 for rapid rehousing;
o Community Partners for Affordable Housing - $50,000 or the support of housing assistance programs.
o Clearbrook - $54,828 for the acquisition of a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) property.
o Habitat for Humanity - $75,000 to support a Critical Home Repair Program.
o Lake County Housing Authority - $75,000 for a Landlord Outreach Program.
o Lake County Community Development - $30,000 program administration.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County has appropriated funds under the LCAHP to increase affordable housing opportunities to residents of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, the Health and Community Services and the Financial and Administrative Committees, having reviewed and approved these LCAHP funding recommendations, are recommending approval by the Lake County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that that the 2022 LCAHP grants totaling $434,828 are hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the County Board or their designee is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents including grant agreements, lien releases, loan modifications, lien subordinations, and other administrative documents necessary to carry out the LCAHP projects.
