Staff Summary

•                     Preliminary engineering for the Saunders Road Sanitary Sewer, Lift Station and Force Main Improvements is under contract with Donohue & Associates, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, (corporate office Sheboygan, Wisconsin).

•                     Preliminary engineering is nearing completion and final design engineering is needed for the project. 

•                     Coordination with LCDOT and the Village of Riverwoods is ongoing for the project.

•                     Contract Modification Number Two is required for the final design engineering services for the sanitary sewer, lift station and force main along Saunders Road.

•                     Contract Modification Number Two increases the amount of the contract with Donohue & Associates by $511,800, from $148,710 to $660,510.

•                     In accordance with Article 8, Section 101 (1) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to enter into Contract Modification Number Two for final design engineering.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains a wastewater collection and transmission system and sanitary sewer lift station along Saunders Road; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works entered into an agreement with Donohue & Associates, Inc. for preliminary engineering services for the Saunders Road Sanitary Sewer, Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project; and

WHEREAS, Contract Modification Number Two is required for final design engineering for the Saunders Road Sanitary Sewer, Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute Contract Modification Number Two for Professional Services with Donohue & Associates, Inc. of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in the amount of $511,800 for professional final engineering services associated with the Saunders Road Sanitary Sewer, Lift Station and Force Main Improvements Project, for a total contract value of $660,510.
