Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) received an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency - Solid Waste Enforcement contract increase in the amount of $31,902 for the period, July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022. The amount requested to be appropriated in LCFY21 is $13,292 and for LCFY22 is $18,610. This funding supports the solid waste management site inspection and enforcement program, which regulates 24 operating solid waste facilities (including 2 active landfills) and 22 closed landfills under this agreement. The funds will offset existing staff salary and fringe benefits.
Suggested Motion
To approve the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency additional funds of $31,902 and emergency appropriate $13,292 for LCFY21 and $18,610 for LCFY22.
