COVID-19 Vaccine Update
COVID-19 vaccine administration for FQHC patients and community members continues at the Belvidere Medical Building, Grand Avenue Health Center, Midlakes Health Center, North Shore Health Center and Zion Health Center. At each visit, providers and their care teams continue to encourage patients and their eligible family members and friends to get vaccinated. Outreach to every LCHD/CHC patient 5 years and older to inquire about their vaccination status, encourage them to get vaccinated if they haven’t already, and assist with scheduling an appointment at one of our health centers for their vaccine continues.
Construction Updates
North Chicago Health Center: Construction activities continue as per the proposed schedule.
Staffing Update
Staffing challenges related to hiring and maintaining support staff, especially Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), continue at all FQHC sites. Leadership is working with Human Resources on both retention and recruitment strategies. In addition, almost all health center sites are experiencing additional staffing challenges with staff members calling out sick with COVID-like symptoms or positive COVID test results.
