• This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program with construction targeted in 2022, and designated as Section 21-00999-83-BR.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, repairs are required on bridges at various locations in Lake County, Illinois in 2022; and
WHEREAS, Phase II design engineering services are required to develop plans and specifications for the 2022 bridge repairs; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide professional engineering services for the repair of bridge decks, concrete, steel, expansion joints, wing walls, and other maintenance and repair work on said bridges; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR), Elgin, Illinois, are consultant engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase II design engineering services; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is required.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and HLR, Inc., Elgin, Illinois, at a maximum amount of $220,870, for Phase II design engineering services for the 2022 bridge repairs, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $265,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for this improvement, and designated as Section 21-00999-83-BR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action, providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
