Annual Routine Action Items - Nordstrom

Body

The following items require annual Board of Health approval at the start of each fiscal year. These items have been previously reviewed by the State's Attorney and previous resolutions have been updated for annual approval by the Board of Health.

Resolution on Authorized Signators

This resolution assists in the timeliness of executing leases and provides for authorized signatories for the Lake County Health Department for the execution of leases, grants, grant contracts, and other contractual agreements involving the Lake County Health Department as a party or grantor consistent with those programs established by the Board of Health.

Resolution on Livestock Agreements

This resolution supports the Animal Care and Control Program’s need to contract with area stables willing and qualified to apprehend and impound livestock. This need relates to their responsibility to enforce and implement the livestock-at-large provisions of the Illinois Livestock Running At Large Act and the Lake County Animal Care and Control ordinance.

Joint Purchasing Programs, Consortiums, and Cooperatives Resolution

This is a reaffirmation of a 1989 resolution that provides the foundation for our participation in the Illinois Joint Purchasing Program as well as a reaffirmation of participation in other purchasing consortiums and cooperatives.

Grant Policies

This provides guidance to the Executive Director in requesting and managing grant revenues.

Resolution on Charges for Expert Witnesses in Private Litigation

This resolution pertains to charges for time expended by Lake County Health Department health care workers as expert or opinion witnesses in private litigation matters. With advice from State’s Attorney’s Office, minor revisions were made to eliminate the requirement that charges be paid in advance. Experience demonstrates that logistics prevent this provision from being followed.

Suggested Motion

To approve and reaffirm the Resolution on Authorized Signators, the Resolution on Livestock Agreements, the Joint Purchasing Programs, Consortiums and Cooperatives Resolution, and the Grant Policies, and to approve and affirm the revisions to the Resolution on Charges for Expert Witnesses in Private Litigation.
