Staff Summary
* The resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation (3R) improvement, from Illinois Route 132 to Grass Lake Road, will include resurfacing and cross slope correction of existing pavement, wider shoulder widths, flatter slopes, improved drainage, and installation of bike-friendly shoulders. A northbound right turn lane will be constructed at Grass Lake Road.
* The resurfacing improvement, from Grass Lake Road to Illinois Route 173, will include resurfacing of existing roadway pavement, culvert maintenance, and guardrail replacement.
* This improvement has been identified within the County's pavement management system and is included in the Transportation Improvement Program with construction planned to begin in 2022 and designated as Section 19-00999-66-RS.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Deep Lake Road, County Highway 36, is a designated route on the County highway system; and

WHEREAS, to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the traveling public, Lake County believes it would be beneficial that Deep Lake Road be resurfaced, restored, and rehabilitated; and

WHEREAS, plans, specifications, and estimate of costs for this improvement have been completed; and

WHEREAS, this project will proceed to a letting and construction is planned to begin in 2022, pending final permit approvals; and

WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $7,475,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds, $1,015,000 of County Bridge funds, and $1,910,000 of Matching Tax funds for the improvement of Deep Lake Road, from Illinois Route 132 to Illinois Route 173, and designated as Section 19-00999-6...
