Staff Summary
• Following an initial presentation on the topic in September 2020 and per Committee direction, staff has been researching possible future bird-friendly design regulatory options.
• Today’s presentation and discussion is focused on bird-friendly design in residential and non-residential buildings in the unincorporated areas.
• At subsequent Committee meetings, staff will present draft text for review based on initial Committee feedback.
• Upon conclusion of the bird-friendly design topic, staff will return to the Committee with the comprehensive packet of nature-based amendments and present a final version for Committee discussion and action.
