Resolution authorizing an agreement with Grant Township to perform winter snow and ice control work on a portion of the Chain O’Lakes Bike Path, from Blackhawk Avenue to Lake Shore Drive.

• The Grant Township Road District requested to perform snow and ice control work on a portion of the Chain O’Lakes Bike Path which is owned by the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT).
• The Road District will perform this work at no cost to the County, and the agreement can be terminated by either party with 30 days advance notice.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Grant Township Road District (Road District) and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the traveling public if the Road District performed snow and ice control work on a portion of the Chain O’Lakes Bike Path, from Blackhawk Avenue to Lake Shore Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Road District will provide these services at no cost to Lake County; and
WHEREAS, Grant Township and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for said routine snow and ice control, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement, and any amendments, between Lake County and the Road District to perform snow and ice control work on a portion of the Chain O’Lakes Bike Path.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
