RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided WIOA Dislocated Worker Grant totaling $325,000 to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and
WHEREAS, this grant will be used for a new position that will be eliminated if or when this grant’s funding is no longer available and no other funding source outside of property tax dollars has been identified; and
WHEREAS, this grant will assist women dislocated from the workforce and fund occupational training expenses and supportive services for the program period of June 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation of $325,000 is requested to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department’s county Fiscal Year 2021 budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $325,000 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the WIOA Dislocated Worker Grant be accepted.
