RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County, on behalf of the Lake County State's Attorney's Office (LCSAO), the City of Waukegan, and the City of Zion has applied for a 2021 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) that provides grant monies to local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime and to improve the criminal justice system; and
WHEREAS, funding will be used to enhance the LCSAO's commitment to Lake County through outreach about intimate partner violence with printed materials and social media activities; and
WHEREAS, grant funding is in the amount of $5,000, which will be appropriated in the County FY 2021 budget; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and required by the Granting Agency that a Memorandum of Understanding between Lake County, the City of Waukegan and the City of Zion be executed in order to define how the grant funds will be disbursed.
