Staff Summary
* The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit receives grant funding from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to provide mediation services for never-married parents involved in visitation and custody-related disputes in an effort to increase child support collections from this population.
* The state would like to continue funding the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit's program in the amount of $50,000 for state FY 2022.
* This access and visitation grant does not require matching funds.
* From July 2021 through June 2022, this program conducts mediations.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit entered into an agreement in state fiscal year 2009 with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to provide mediation services for non-married parents involved in visitation and custody-related disputes; and

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services would like to continue funding the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit's program in the amount of $50,000 for state FY 2022; and

WHEREAS, this access and visitation grant does not require matching funds; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve the new intergovernmental agreement and appropriate the $50,000 in funding to formally accept this grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that it hereby approves Agreement Number 2021-55-024-002 with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and an emergency appropriation of $50,000 for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit's Access and Visitation Program for state FY 2022; and
