Sliding Fee Schedule of Discounts for the School-Based Health Center - Riley

The Department of Health and Human Services has updated the federal poverty guidelines for 2021.
Physical Health (FQHC) operations are required to provide services at a discounted rate for those individuals and families who earn annual income greater than 100% and up to and including 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. The Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health programs included in the FQHC are required to follow section 330(k) (3) (G) for the Public Health Services Act, 42 USC. A nominal fee/flat rate based on poverty levels for medical, dental and laboratory services was previously approved by the Governing Council on June 8, 2021.
To comply with the Heath Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) compliance element, the School Based Health Center (SBHC) must utilize the same sliding fee schedule of discounts for Medical, Behavioral Health, and Family Planning services. HRSA does not allow for a different sliding fee schedule based on location as we currently have established at the SBHC.
Suggested Motion
To adopt the Medical, Behavioral Health, and Family Planning programs sliding fee schedule of discounts utilized in Physical Health (FQHC) at the School Based Health Center (SBHC).
