Resolution providing for the appointment of Deborah Balma, Patrick “Sean” Ginty, Andrea Hess, Helen Redding, and Harold Wallin as members of the Ethics Commission of Lake County.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2021, the Lake County Board amended the Ethics & Conduct Code which resulted in the creation of a new Ethics Commission of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, per the Ethics & Conduct Code, the Commission shall be made up of five (5) members appointed by the Ethics & Oversight Committee with the advice and consent of the Lake County Board; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Ethics & Conduct Code, the first appointees to the Commission shall have staggered terms with three appointees with two-year terms, two appointees with three-year terms, and all subsequent terms shall be three-year; and
WHEREAS, the Ethics & Oversight Committee reviewed applications from interested individuals, conducted interviews, and provided consensus on five (5) appointees; and
WHEREAS, the Ethics & Oversight Committee requests that Deborah Balma, Patrick “Sean” Ginty, Andrea Hess, Helen Redding, and Harold Wallin be appointed to the Ethics Commission of Lake County with terms to begin immediately and, due to staggered term requirements, to end on a date to be determined at the first Ethics Commission meeting via lottery.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the appointment of Deborah Balma, Patrick “Sean” Ginty, Andrea Hess, Helen Redding, and Harold Wallin as members of the Ethics Commission of Lake County for a term beginning immediately and ending on a date set at the first Ethics Commission meeting via lottery.
