Resolution authorizing a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Lake County Board, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metropolitan Alliance of Police Chapter 482 (MAP) Law Enforcement Division Lieutenants Unit.
Staff Summary
• This is a five-year agreement retroactive to December 1, 2019 through November 30, 2024 and covers approximately 6 employees in the Law Enforcement Division of the Sheriff’s Department.
• The current wage differential of five percent will increase one percent per year for the first three years of the agreement to top off at eight percent.
• As part of this contract, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Day will become a fixed holiday.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the MAP Union, has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for certain employees in the Lake County Law Enforcement Division Lieutenants Unit; and
WHEREAS, negotiations between the County Board, Sheriff and MAP on a successor collective bargaining agreement went on for multiple years; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached a tentative agreement on all outstanding issues; and
WHEREAS, the County Board holds the final approval to ratify the terms of the tentative agreement reached.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this the County Board of Lake County, that the Madam Chair of the Board is hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and make a part of this Resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from December 1, 2019 through November 30, 2024 consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act 5ILCS 315/21.
