Staff Summary
• Throughout summer 2021, staff is presenting a discussion series on various proposed nature-based zoning amendments to the Lake County Code of Ordinances.
• Today’s presentation and discussion is focused on wildlife rehabilitation and ecotherapy uses in the unincorporated areas. The draft amendments, attached as “Exhibit A”, would establish a new ‘ecotherapy’ use category and include revisions to the Wildlife Rehabilitation use category.
• Upon conclusion of the discussion series, staff will return to the Committee this fall with a comprehensive packet of amendments and present a final version for the Committee to formally initiate the Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing process.
