Staff Summary
* The $123,411.96 per year will be used to support salaries, fringe benefits, operational supplies, computer equipment, contractual services, and training.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Illinois Public Act 85-1195 states, in part, that if proceeds from a fee, tax or surcharge imposed by a local government on local landfills are to be used to conduct a local solid waste management site inspection and enforcement program, then the unit of local government must enter into a delegation agreement with the Illinois EPA pursuant to 415 ILCS 5/4(r) (1992); and

WHEREAS, the Lake County Board passed the Lake County Solid Waste Management Tax Ordinance in April 1989, amended July 13, 2010, pursuant to PA 85-1195;

WHEREAS, the Ordinance sets forth a priority protocol to be followed in expending the proceeds from the Tax, with one of the activities pursuant to that protocol being the funding of an inspection program for solid waste disposal facilities within Lake County; and
