Joint resolution appropriating a supplemental amount of $110,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds and approving Change Order Number Two in the amount of $86,554 for the intersection improvement of Wadsworth Road at Lewis Avenue.
Staff Summary
* Wadsworth Road at Lewis Avenue will be improved by adding turn lanes, modifying the traffic signal, and adding pedestrian accommodation including a connection to the regional Robert McClory Bike Path.
* The Lake County Division of Transportation has secured a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant that will cover up to $2,786,960 of the construction costs.
* The Lake County Board, at its October 11, 2016 meeting, approved an appropriation of $600,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds and a consultant agreement with RS and H Inc., St. Charles, Illinois, at a cost of $498,506.90.
* Change orders need to be approved by the standing committees for cumulative net increases over 10 percent. The sum of all contract change orders to date is $188,002, which represents a 37.71 percent increase over the original awarded contract amount.
* This project is included in the Transportation Improvement Program with construction anticipated to begin in 2022, and designated as Section 13-00055-06-WR.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road, County Highway 17, and Lewis Avenue, County Highway 27, are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the traveling public if Wadsworth Road at Lewis Avenue could be improved by adding turn lanes, modifying the traffic signal, and adding pedestrian accommodation to the east leg of Wadsworth Road including a connection to the Robert McClory Bike Path; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board, at its meeting of October 11, 2016, approved an appropriation of $600,000 of 1/4% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for Phase II design engineering services for the intersection improvemen...
