* The process of hiring of a pediatrician is in the final stages. This provider will work half time at Belvidere Medical Center and half time at Zion Health Center.
* Recruitment continues for a new Regional Medical Director; this posting is to replace Dr. Shami Goyal, who has stepped down as Regional Medical Director. Leadership has one internal and two external candidates undergoing the interview process.
Clinic Operations
* A virtual Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 7:00-7:45 p.m., to discuss the importance of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, types of vaccines, vaccine hesitancy, means to register for the vaccine, and the FQHC mass vaccination clinics hours and locations. A question and answer session will follow from 7:45-8:00 p.m.
* FQHC COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinics at Grand Avenue Health Center and Zion Health Center have vaccinated hundreds of FQHC patients age 65 years and older.
External Relations
* The agency began working with the University of Illinois-Chicago Nurse Practitioner Program and hosted our first student rotation from this program.
Regulatory
* Preparation is in full swing for The Joint Commission (TJC) survey. A Joint Commission Survey Readiness Handbook has been given to providers and staff to assist them in preparing for the upcoming visit.

Clinic Operations
* No significant FQHC-related changes in clinical operations. Most services continue to be provided using telephone or video encounters.
* The Behavioral Health Medical Director position is posted.
External Relations
* Nothing new to report.
Regulatory
* TJC survey for Behavioral Health was conducted March 8 through March 12; the survey was very successful with only 10 findings, all in the lower risk quadrants.
