Staff Summary
• Public Works provides sewer service throughout portions of Lake County and undertakes rehabilitation of deteriorated and aging sanitary sewer systems.
• As part of the County’s shared services initiative, Public Works has been working closely with the County Administrator’s Office to identify shared service opportunities.
• In 2020, an invitation to bid on sanitary and water structure rehabilitation was extended by the Village of Lincolnshire.
• Duke’s Root Control, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid.
• Pursuant to Article 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, Cooperative Purchasing, Lake County may participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for the procurement of goods with one or more public procurement units in accordance with an agreement entered into between the participants.
• Lake County Public Works Department coordinated with Lincolnshire through their 2020 sanitary and water structure rehabilitation program to obtain the same 2020 contract pricing.
• Duke’s Root Control, Inc. submitted a quote to Lake County Public Works in the amount of $96,640 for sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation and associated work in various locations.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains several sanitary sewer systems within the County; and
WHEREAS, Public Works provides sewer service throughout portions of Lake County and undertakes rehabilitation of deteriorated and aging sanitary sewer systems; and
WHEREAS, as part of the County’s shared services initiative, Public Works has been working closely with the County Administrator’s Office to identify shared service opportunities; and
WHEREAS, in 2020 an invitation to bid was extended by the Village of Lincolnshire on the Village’s 2020 Sanitary and Water Structure Rehabilitation Program; and
WHEREAS, Duke’s Root Control, Inc., Syracuse, NY, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 10-101 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, a cooperative purchasing contract with Duke’s Root Control, Inc. has been identified for the services; and
WHEREAS, Lake County Public Works Department coordinated with Lincolnshire through their 2020 Sanitary and Water Structure Rehabilitation Program to obtain the equivalent 2020 contract pricing; and
WHEREAS, Duke’s Root Control, Inc. submitted a quote to Lake County Public Works in the amount of $96,640.00 for sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation and associated work in various locations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Duke’s Root Control, Inc. of Syracuse, NY in the amount of $96,640.00 for 2020 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Repairs.
