Illinois Department of Human Services has increased Behavioral Health grant funding for state fiscal year 2021 which runs from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (CHD/CHC) has received amendments for a total of six grants. Most of the appropriation will be used to offset existing salary and fringe benefits. The Crisis Staffing funds will fund two new Counselor II positions and cell phones.

LCHD/CHC has received renewed grant funding in the amount of $110,000 for the time period, July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. This will continue to provide outpatient mental health services and fitness education to non-dangerous defendants who are adjudicated unfit to stand trial. This will fund a new Senior Therapist position, program supplies, equipment and will offset existing salary and fringe benefits.

 

LCHD/CHC has received new grant funding in the amount of $381,196 for the time period, July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. This will provide necessary services and support for individuals transitioning from a State Operated Psychiatric Hospital (SOPH) to a lower level of care. The individuals served will include both uninsured/underinsured people as well as individuals who have Medicaid coverage. This will fund two new Counselor II positions, a Lead Counselor position, program supplies, client support, contractual services, equipment, indirect costs and will offset one existing salary and fringe benefits.

 

Suggested Motion

To approve the Illinois Department of Human Services additional, renewed and new grant funding of $685,662 and emergency appropriate $603,322 for LCFY20.
