Illinois Department of Public Health has increased Prevention grant funding for state fiscal year 2021 which runs from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) has received additional funds for three grants. Most of the appropriation will be used to offset existing salary and fringe benefits.

LCHD/CHC has received renewed Immunization Elimination of Disparities grant funding in the amount of $60,000 for the time period, May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021. This will continue to support in-reach and outreach efforts promoting immunizations and addressing disparities that exist with immunization status in Lake County. Most of the appropriation will be used to offset existing salary and fringe benefits.
LCHD/CHC has received renewed Local Health Department Overdoses Surveillance and Response grant funding in the amount of $105,000 for the time period, September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021. This will continue to support the planning and development of an Opioid Response Plan for Lake County. This will partially fund a new Epidemiologist position, supplies, contractual services and will offset existing salary and fringe benefits.
Suggested Motion
To approve the Illinois Department of Public Health additional and renewed grant funding of $190,546 and emergency appropriate $159,870 for LCFY20.
