Special recognition honoring the service and the sacrifice of Lake County’s healthcare professionals and first responders.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION
WHEREAS public health and health care professionals; and first responders, including firefighters, emergency medical services professionals, law enforcement, and military personnel, serve as our frontline defense, caring for and protecting our residents during perilous times, and
WHEREAS, our health care professionals and first responders, facing unprecedented challenges to stay healthy and safe while serving their communities and most vulnerable populations, continue to show up and put their lives on the line every day; and
WHEREAS, in times when we face disasters and other threatening events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest, our health care professionals and first responders go above and beyond the call of duty to restore health, peace, and security on behalf of all whom they are sworn to protect and care for; and
WHEREAS, health care professionals and first responders often work in dangerous environments and intense situations but do not hesitate to risk their own lives to safeguard our residents, families and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the heroism, bravery, and selflessness of Lake County’s health care professionals and first responders must be honored and recognized in these unprecedented times, and
WHEREAS, we remember and honor those who have lost their lives caring for their fellow residents and safeguarding their communities, including the heroes lost this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board supports the dedicated health care professionals and first responders in their respective missions to help the residents and communities of Lake County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RECOGNIZED that the Lake County Board salutes the service and sacrifice of health care professionals and first responders for the tireless work they do to maintain public health and safety in Lake County. The Lake County Board shall continue to honor the sacrifice these men and women make every day.
