Resolution authorizing an increase in the budgeted number of full-time equivalent positions in the Chief County Assessment Office from 21 to 24 and authorizing a line item transfer transferring the budget authority from the Information Technology (IT) budget to the Chief County Assessment Office (CCAO).

 

Staff Summary

                     Working with the County Administrator’s Office, the Chief County Assessor and the Chief Information Officer have agreed to transfer three GIS employees from the IT to the CCAO.

                     As a result of this transfer, the IT budget will be reduced by three full time employees while the CCAO’s budget will increase by three full time employees to 24.

                     This transfer will be effective August 15, 2020, and a line item transfer is included to transfer $116,823.13 in budgeted personnel expense from the IT budget to the CCAO budget for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2020.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, it has been determined that transferring the GIS personnel from the Information Technology Department to the Chief County Assessor’s Office is in the best interest of Lake County; and

 

WHEREAS, this transfer requires increasing the approved full-time staff in the Chief County Assessor’s Office by three while decreasing the approved full-time staff in the Information Technology Department by three; and                     

 

WHEREAS, a line item transfer is required to transfer the associated salary and benefits budget for these three staff members from the Information Technology Department to the Chief County Assessor’s Office as indicated in the attached; and

 

WHEREAS, County Board approval is required to authorize this transfer.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County Illinois, that the number of full-time positions in the Chief County Assessment Office will be increased by three positions so that the total will be 24 positions; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a line item transfer is approved as indicated in the attached to transfer the previously approved budget from the Information Technology budget for these employees to the Chief County Assessor’s Office budget for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2020; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the number of full-time employees in the Information Technology Department will be reduced by three.
