Illinois Department of Human Services has increased Behavioral Health grant funding for state fiscal year 2020 which runs from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. LCHD/CHC has received amendments for a total of six grants. Most of the appropriation will be used to offset existing salary and fringe benefits. The Prescription Drug Overdose funds will be used for naloxone and future educational events.

LCHD/CHC has also received new grant funding in the amount of $45,000 for the period, February 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020. This grant will be renewed for SFY21 which runs from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. This will provide outpatient mental health services and fitness education to non-dangerous defendants who are adjudicated unfit to stand trial. This will fund a new Senior Therapist position, program supplies, equipment, and will offset existing salary and fringe benefits.
Suggested Motion
To approve the additional and new grant funding of $185,777 from the Illinois Department of Human Services to support behavioral health grants.
