Joint resolution authorizing 2020 Lake County Affordable Housing Program (LCAHP) grant awards.
Staff Summary
• In December 2019, Community Development staff received applications for eligible affordable housing programs and projects.
• The available affordable housing funding includes $301,000 of Lake County Affordable Housing Program (LCAHP) Funds.
• On May 22, 2020, the Affordable Housing Advisory and Recommendation Committee (ARC) voted unanimously to recommend LCAHP funds to the following:
o Catholic Charities - $150,000 for rapid rehousing;
o Community Partners for Affordable Housing - $81,000 for the acquisition of an affordable rental housing project;
o Community Partners for Affordable Housing - $40,000 for the support of housing assistance programs; and
o Community Development - $30,000 for grant administration.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lake County has appropriated funds under the LCAHP to increase affordable housing opportunities to residents of Lake County; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Housing and Community Development Commission (HCDC), having reviewed and approved the funding recommendations of its ARC, recommends specific affordable housing projects and programs for LCAHP funding; and
WHEREAS, the Health and Community Services and the Financial and Administrative Committees, having reviewed and approved these LCAHP funding recommendations, are recommending approval by the Lake County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that that the 2020 LCAHP grants are hereby approved; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the County Board or their designee is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents including grant agreements, lien releases, loan modifications, lien subordinations, and other administrative documents necessary to carry out the LCAHP projects.
