On April 3, 2020, HRSA awarded LCHD/CHC a total of $1,490,120.00 to provide one-time support to health centers for the detection of coronavirus and/or the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of COVID-19, including maintaining or increasing health center capacity and staffing levels during a coronavirus-related public health emergency.
HRSA determined the award amount using the following formula: (1) $503,000, plus, (2) $15.00 per patient reported in the 2018 Uniform Data System (UDS), and, (3) $30.00 per uninsured patient reported in the 2018 UDS.
LCHD/CHC use of these funds are aligned to support medical assistant salaries, purchase medical supplies, laptops for telehealth providers, healthcare grade computers at the Respiratory Illness Clinic (RIC), laboratory testing, signs and signage for clinic patient testing and reprogramming key card access at eight locations. The grant period is April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021.
