R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County) owns, operates and maintains the Vernon Hills water system; and
WHEREAS, the water system is served by the Hawthorn Water Tower, which is an existing 500,000-gallon elevated tank, that was constructed in 1972 and was last painted in the mid-1990s, is in need of painting and rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication for the Hawthorn Water Tower Rehabilitation Project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations to bid were extended to six (6) contractors; and
WHEREAS, six (6) sealed bids were received and publicly opened via a zoom meeting in the office of the Purchasing Department on Thursday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, Seven Brothers Painting, Inc., is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $529,900; the other bids received ranged from $536,000 to $839,100.
