• Change orders need to be approved by the standing committees for cumulative net increases over 10 percent.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of March 14, 2017, approved $380,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the intersection improvement of Winchester Road at Illinois Route 83; and
WHEREAS, this construction project is under contract with Strand Associates, Inc., Joliet, Illinois, in the amount of $313,059.76; and
WHEREAS, Change Order Number Three, in the amount of $80,912.54 includes additional geotechnical work, drainage study revisions and a traffic impact analysis, all requested by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), as well as attending meetings and preparing plans associated with the extra work items; and
WHEREAS, Change Order Number Two, in the amount of $20,912.50, consisted of the addition of a drainage study along Illinois Route 83 requested by IDOT; and
WHEREAS, Change Order Number One, in the amount of $9,524.14, was needed to add wetland services to the original contract; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation of funds is necessary for the additional scope of work; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance requires the Public Works, Planning and Transportation Committee and the Finance and Administrative Committee to approve change orders with cumulative totals above 10% of the original contract.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a supplemental appropriation of $130,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for the intersection improvement of Winchester Road at Illinois Route 83, approving Change Order Number Three in the amount of $80,912.54, and designated as Section 16-00170-13-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution being presented to the Lake County Board for approval, the Public Works, Planning and Transportation Committee, and Finance and Administrative Committee hereby have approved Change Order Number Three.
