Resolution setting the compensation for specified County Board Members.

 

Staff Summary

                     Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/4-10001, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office.

                     Based on the election cycle for certain officials, it is necessary to set compensation for members of the County Board Group One (under the four-four-two-year terms) for 2021 through 2022.

                     This resolution reflects a salary freeze for years 2021 and 2022 and is consistent with the direction given by the Financial and Administrative Committee at its April 16, 2020 Special Meeting.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of County-wide elected officials; and

 

WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office; and

 

WHEREAS, based on the election cycle for certain officials, it is now necessary to set the compensation for Group One members; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective county board members identified as Group One (with terms of four-four-two years) be approved by this County Board.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the compensation for Group One members shall be as follows for the years indicated:

 

for the year 2021: $43,018;

for the year 2022: $43,018.
