Staff Summary
• Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/4-10001, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office.
• Based on the election cycle of certain officials it is necessary to set compensation for the Recorder of Deeds, Circuit Clerk, and Coroner for the years 2021 through 2024.
• This resolution reflects a salary freeze for years 2021 through 2024 and is consistent with the direction given by the Financial and Administrative Committee at its April 16, 2020 Special Meeting.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the compensation of County-wide elected officials; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials not less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Recorder of Deeds, Circuit Clerk, and Coroner for the years 2021 through 2024; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the Recorder of Deeds, Circuit Clerk, and Coroner shall be as follows for the years indicated:
for the year 2021: $127,874 per annum;
for the year 2022: $127,874 per annum;
for the year 2023: $127,874 per annum;
for the year 2024: $127,874 per annum.
