Resolution authorizing a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Teamsters Local 700 and Lake County Sheriff Department.

 

Staff Summary

                     This is a five-year agreement beginning April 11, 2017 through November 30, 2022.

                     Employees will receive 2.25 percent, 2.5 percent, 2.85 percent, and three percent wage increases effective December 1, 2017, December 1, 2018, December 1, 2019, and December 1, 2020, respectively, and an increase equivalent to the wage increase of non-union employees for December 1, 2020 and December 1, 2021.

                     It is projected that the cost of the general increase will be $23,440 for FY 2017, $59,653 for FY 2018, and $106,569 for FY 2019, and $ 162,351 for FY 2020.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, the Teamsters Local 700, has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for certain employees in the Sheriff’s Department; and

 

WHEREAS, a Collective Bargaining Agreement has been negotiated with the Teamsters 700, as the exclusive representative of certain employees in the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act; and

 

WHEREAS, your Financial and Administrative Committee has reviewed and approved said agreement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this the County Board of Lake County, that the Madam Chair of the Board is hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from April 11, 2017 through November 30, 2022 consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act 5ILCS 315/21.
